Back inside the House of Leaves

Posted: July 6, 2011 in Uncategorized

Wow we are already through 152 pages of “House of Leaves” and I still don’t know what the hell it is talking about.  Smdh. Where should I start?  This book has got to be the most confusing and weirdest book I have ever read.  I literally wanted to throw the book across the room just as Professor Stommel said I might. One of the parts that was really weird was when Navidson measured the house and it was bigger on the inside than it was on the outside!  Wait, i know what you’re thinking….how in the world is that even possible?  Because at one point it was bigger by 1/4 of an inch, then it grows to be 5/16 of an inch bigger!

One of the many astonishing attributes of the house is the mysterious doorway that appears and seems to mess with your minds and your thoughts and also causes the relationship between Karen and Navidson to go completely south.  When Navidson realizes this, he decides that he must find out the secret mystery behind this door.  Even though they are in the book, I don’t even know if they can find out what is up with that house.

Navidson also expresses himself and the many different stories told by many different people in a very vulgar and raunchy language which adds to the humor of the novel so that I won’t find myself throwing it into a river or something.

btw check out my think aloud protocol with the Xbox Kinect.
